The Lensbaby 2.0 SLR lens is the slightly more refined descendant of the Original Lensbaby, featuring a sharper optic, a new f/2 aperture setting, and magnetically levitating aperture disks. Lensbaby 2.0 features a low dispersion, high refractive index, multi-coated optical glass doublet which is capable of delivering images with a tack sharp sweet spot of focus with minimal diffusion even at the f/2 aperture setting.
Lensbaby 2.0 can achieve aperture settings of f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, and f/8 by switching the magnetically levitating aperture disks.
IN THE STUDIO & ON LOCATION
The Lensbaby 2.0 is used both in the studio and on location. Applications include portraits, food, still life, editorial, wedding, macro and a variety of other commercial and personal uses by photographers who need a crisp, contrast sweet spot of focus.
Lensbaby 2.0 aperture system
Lensbaby 2.0 utilizes a system of levitating magnetically receptive discs that float above the optic. When the aperture discs are dropped into the Lensbaby, they snap into place, held just above the optic by magnetic attraction from the three shielded rare earth magnets embedded in the optics cup. Removal is also easy, and Lensbabies provides a complimentary Cell-Klear™ Lenspen® that the photographer can insert through the center hole in the aperture disk to lift it out.
